MACDONALD-SMITH, Paul
January 25, 1945 – June 12, 2021
On Saturday, June 12, 2021, Paul MacDonald-Smith passed away at the age of 76 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Adrienne, and son, Andrew.
Born in Welwyn Garden City, UK, to parents Alex & Joy, Paul had a wide variety of interests at which he excelled, including competitive swimming, fishing with his father, field archery, and racing motorcycles and sports cars.
Working as an Account Executive in Advertising, in the UK and in Canada, Paul and Adrienne moved to Calgary in 1970. He later owned his own printing business and managed several printing companies, until his retirement in 2005. Following his retirement, Paul delved into his love of golf by working as a Marshall at Kananaskis Country Golf Course for several seasons.
Paul was extremely proud of his son’s acting career, attending all his performances starting at Cochrane High School, then across Western Canada.
Many thanks are extended to Cochrane Home Care, Dr. McLaughlin, and Dulcina Hospice for their care, compassion, and support.
In honouring his wishes, no service and a private cremation will be held.
Those who so desire may make memorial donations to a charity of their choosing or to one that Paul held close to his heart: Teatro La Quindicina Theatre Society at www.TeatroQ.com
Arrangements entrusted to Florence (Flo) Simpson, Funeral Director

So sorry to have lost Paul, and regretting how long it has been since we were in touch. He was a wonderful colleague when we worked together, and a consistently enjoyable old friend on the few (too few!) occasions that business brought us together in subsequent years. We still recall our overnight visit with you both when you were new to Ghost Lake. You are in our thoughts, Adrienne and Andrew.
Adrienne, my condolences to you and Andrew on the passing of Paul.
It was such fun to connect up with you and Paul in such a surprising way on my return to Calgary a few years ago.
Take care.
Saddened to learn of Paul’s passing but glad to hear he had such good care Words are inadequate at a time like this but sending you both my deepest sympathy Be kind to yourself It does take time to adjust when such a gap in one’s life occurs Thinking of you and recalling fond memories of Welwyn Garden City
Love Hil
