LUPYCZUK, Angela ( Adelgunde)

August 26, 1927 – December 1, 2015

Angela was born in Wielke, Poland, she immigrated to Canada with her family in 1948 landing in Quebec City and taking residence in Calgary. She met the love of her life, Stephan, in 1949. They were married on May 6, 1950. She worked hard and long hours to build and run various businesses to help provide for her family. Angela was a kind, gentle and loving soul. She was loved and adored by all and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Stephan, son Bill (Carol) their children Keri (Andrew), Lindsay, her daughter Helen (Ken) their children Curtis (Holly) and Garret and her great grandchildren Addison, Lucas, Sierra and Samantha, her siblings Irma (Morris), Elsie (Adrien), Eric (Carolyn), nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Angela was predeceased by her father Adam Gissel and her mother Lydia Gissel Reinhart, 5 siblings and a great niece. Prayer Service will be held on Friday, December 4th at 7:00 p.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Divine Liturgy will be served at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, ( 704 – 6th Street N.E., Calgary ) on Saturday, December 5th, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with The Reverend Michael Bohun presiding. In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 100, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2N 1Z6 or the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta, 10531 Kingsway Ave, Edmonton, AB T5H 4K1 or The family would like to express our thanks to the caregivers at Bowview Manor for their kind and compassionate care of Angela.

    Morley and I were saddened to learn of your beloved Angela’s passing, we know she was a hard worker and wonderful helper, that was evident, when every spring for several years, her loving work was on display in the form of huge flower pots, placed in front of Bill and Carol’s home.
