KOROL, Orville Bruce

July 18, 1936 – September 6, 2020

The nightmare that is 2020 gets even worse.  After suffering a major stroke August 31, our precious Orville peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Sunday, September 6, surrounded by his wife Eunice and his two children Bruce and Rosalyn.

Orville Bruce Korol was born in Mannville, Alberta to Joseph and Helen on July 18, 1936. A self-made man, Orville went from farming to working at Shell for over 25 years which he followed up with a successful consulting business. In the midst of that he married the love of his life, Eunice, in Edmonton in 1971. They went on to have two children, Bruce and Rosalyn, makIng cherished memories for several decades.  Among other things, Orville will be lovingly remembered for his stoic and calm demeanor, his unwavering faith, and his love for his garden, playing the stock market and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Left behind are his wife Eunice, his two kids Bruce and Rosalyn (Jeff),  his greatly adored grandchildren – Cora, Josie, Callum, Larissa, Henrietta and Lydia – as well as brothers Allen (Lorena)(Costa Rica) and Kenneth (Maghnild) (Norway) and his sister Margaret (Waslow) Waldowski (Spruce Grove) and a countless number of friends and family.

A special thank you to the Foothills staff and in particular, Orville’s nurses in his final days, Scott and Carlos, who provided such excellent and attentive care.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in Orville’s honour may be made to the Mustard Seed.

Given current Covid restrictions, a scaled-back celebration of life will be held for family and friends at RockPointe Church -Bearspaw, on Sunday, September 20. Registration required  https://rockpointecalgary.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/539268

All my memories of Orville are good ones. I remember that he always had a smile on his face and of course who could forget that wonderful unique laugh. Unfortunately we connected mostly at funerals but it was always good to visit with him. One time, many years ago, my family and I stayed overnight at their place in Calgary. I have a special needs boy Tyler who loves to ride on anything mechanical. In the morning, Orville got his quad out and took Tyler for a spin. Many years later, Tyler still remembers that morning. God bless you Korol family as you grieve the loss of Orville but also rejoice that he is at home with his Lord and Saviour!!

I wish to send my condolences to the Korol family on the loss of their husband, father and grandfather. I did not know Orville, but I knew about him through his daughter, Rosie, and his son-in-law, Jeff. Through them I knew he was a loving family man with a huge faith.
I knew that Rosie loved her father dearly and will miss him terribly.
Death does not end a relationship. As long as someone lives on in the hearts and memories of their loved ones, they are still with us. And always will be.
My deepest sympathy to Eunice, Rosie and Bruce and all other family.
I hope that Orville’s celebration of life will bring peace to the family and start the process of healing.
Sincerely, Linda Klym (Aunt of Jeff and Rosie)

We met Orville through his family…Eunice, Bruce and Rosebud, whom we had the delightful pleasure of meeting on a Meditteranean Cruise, some 20 years ago ! Some six months later, we flew to Calgary, ( on our 1st visit ) was met and welcomed by the gentle, devout Christian man that was Orville, and spent two wonderful weeks with the Korol family. As we stepped from the car, Orville was there to greet us, saying…” Any friend of my family’s is a friend of mine…you are both VERY Welcome to our Homestead ” …and we WERE welcomed, loved and embraced wholeheartedly!!

Although we seldom see each other, we have never lost the strong bond of love and friendship, shown by ALL of the Korol family; ours is a Life long friendship, and we know, without a doubt, that Orville will be held closely in his Loving Lord’s arms, cherished and made well and whole once more. Orville was a constant and willing servant of the Lord, and a TRUE Christian man, an adoring Husband for Eunice and a gentle Father with a heart of PURE GOLD’ for Bruce and Rose!!
We have not experienced the joy of his being a Grandparent, but from e-mails and photographs, we are able to see for ourselves, the depth of his love, and the deep contentment he felt for his six ” Little Darlings “…..

We Love you Eunice, and feel so desperately sorry that you have lost your Loving Soulmate, and send you our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy in your huge loss. We pray that our loving Lord will draw close to you, enfold you in His loving arms, ease your heartache and desolation, and give you peace in your heart, mind and soul, for all that you have meant to each other over the years! We have known the Korols for over 30 years.
Orville was a calm, gentle, man of God. It is reflected in his children, Bruce and Rosalyn.
He and his wonderful, caring wife Eunice, always made us feel welcome in their home, and made our family feel loved. We consider Korols to be the best of friends.
Orville always had a smile, and when you spoke to him, he listened with all his attention, and made everyone feel important.
He will be missed so much by his beautiful family and all his friends.
We rejoice in the knowledge that he is with the Lord.
We pray that all of the family will feel the Lords loving arms around them during this time.
We are sharing your heartache. With our deepest sympathy. Garry and Bonnie Gillard

Dear Eunice, Bruce, Roslyn, Jeff, and those precious little ones.

With Orville’s sudden passing the shock is more real and I can understand how difficult it is to process. When our sister Joan died so suddenly it was so difficult to handle, but knowledge of seeing her again was so comforting.

We are so glad that we had that wonderful weekend together, Eunice, on your 80th birthday. Orville was so welcoming and warm to us. I can still hear his hearty laugh watching the game with David, Curtis, and Brian.

I love the verse my sister Carolyn used, Isaiah 26.3, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”. The song, “What a Day that will be” rings in my mind as I anticipate seeing Jesus and all our loved ones waiting for us.

Orville, has had many accomplishments but the greatest accomplishment was not only raising an incredible family but also graduating with top honours to be with his Heavenly Father. The wonderful memories you have of your husband, father, and grandfather will sustain you in the coming years. Our love and our prayers are with you.

    Your cousins, Joyce and Brian.

Whether it was working together at Shell 35 years ago or at Rockpointe church, it was always a pleasure to have a conversation with him. Eunice, our deepest condolences to you and the family. You can take comfort in the fact that he was a wonderful man of God who was thought the world of by many family and friends. Orville definitely left the world better than he found it.

Dear Eunice, Bruce, Rosie, Jeff, Cora, Josie, Callum, Larissa, Henrietta, Lydia

May God bestow upon you knowing that Orville is at peace with His Heavenly Father.
His faith in God was a big part in his life and this he passed on to his loving family.
    The love and respect for his family showed in his face – Eunice, his soulmate and loving wife;
his children who loved him with all their hearts and souls; and his grandchildren who ran up
to him and hugged him whenever they saw him.

I pray The Lord helps you to find a path of light in this sorrowful time.
May all the beautiful and cherished moments of your lives be forever etched in your hearts
and souls and bring a smile to your face and comfort you.
    For this I pray.

God Bless you all, now and forever
    Betty and Gary
