KLATT, Daniel
March 28, 1935 – September 24, 2021
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our loving father, grandfather, and friend. Dan passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the age of 86.
He was born on March 28, 1935 in Sunnybrook, Alberta. Dan was a hardworking man all his life. He spent time farming, cabinet making, and then gardening in his retired years. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. He believed that your hand shake was your word and if you said you were going to do it, you did it. He was a pay-it-forward kind of guy. He will be forever remembered as a man who had smiles that could brighten your days; his warm words of praise always filled your heart with joy; and he was kind, patient, generous and the very best friend you could ever ask for. His family was everything to him and he never left you without a handshake or hug goodbye. I love you was said daily and his gratitude for all you did for him, was never left unspoken.
Dan leaves to mourn his loving daughter, Deborah (Kevin) Wilkinson; and very dear granddaughter, Katherine. He was predeceased by his parents, Rudolph and Hulda Klatt; brother, Jack; and sisters, Lena Lichon, and O’linda Halladay.
Dan will be deeply missed. We know he is singing, playing guitar and building something in the heavens above.
A Silent Tear
Just close your eyes and you will see,
All the memories that you have of me,
Just sit and relax and you will find,
I’m really still there inside your mind,
Don’t cry for me now I’m gone,
For I am in the land of song,
There is no pain, there is no fear,
So dry away that silent tear,
Don’t think of me in the dark and cold,
For here I am, no longer old,
I’m in that place that’s filled with love,
Known to you all, as “up above”.

Dan blessed the world with his genuine smile and kindness. May the beautiful memories live in in your hearts forever.❤️❤️❤️
Dan was a wonderful, kind man but also had a marvelous sense of humour. It sure added flavour when Deborah brought him into our family. He will be missed.

My deepest condolences Deborah, Kevin & Katherine.
Deborah, my dear sister-in-law, your father was such a lovely man. He was one of the kindest people I’ve met, and I was lucky to know him. I will cherish memories of sharing family dinners and Christmas celebrations with him. He was always a gentleman, and had a playful sense of humour. His loving nature will be missed by all. It was evident for everyone to see how much he loved his family and treasured you, his beloved daughter.
Hugs of love & support, Vanessa
