KIRKPATRICK, Garry Keith

September 14, 1953 – April 27, 2023

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Garry Kirkpatrick on Thursday, April 27th, 2023. Garry went peacefully with his family by his side.

Garry was born on Sept 14th 1953 in the Town of Shaunavon Saskatchewan. He had a beautiful wife of 35 years Shelly who he married on April 9th, 1988. They started their family in Estevan, SK and had 3 incredible children James, Morgan and Ryan.

In 2001 they moved to Cochrane, AB to further his career. Garry was well respected in the Oil & Gas Industry and left a huge impact with those around him.

He was exceedingly loved by his family, friends & colleagues. He was always loyal to his friends and family making sure they were his top priority. He always spoke very highly of his wife and family. Garry had a fun competitive nature and always loved a challenge from golf and darts to bowling and cards. It didn’t matter what he was playing, he always seemed to win with a smirk on his face.

Garry will always be one of the most influential, kind and loving individuals. He will forever remain in all of our hearts.

He will be remembered by his loving wife Shelly; children James, Morgan (Justin) and Ryan; grandchildren Ainsley and Aleah; sister Darlene; brother Gordon (Audrey); brother-in-law Mervin (Twila); brother-in-law Donald; sister-in-law Terry (Elwood); sister-in-law Debra; as well as many extended family & friends. He is predeceased by his parents Herbert and Helen; brother-in-law Mike; sister-in-law Shirley; father-in-law Harold; and mother-in-law Mabel.

Very sad to hear of Garrys passing after a courageous battle with cancer. I had the pleasure of working with Garry early in his career with Protec Mud Service. My sincere sympathy to Shelly and Family.
His love for life, fun, sport, knowledge and a job well done was a hallmark of Gary’s. We started in the oil-patch around the same time and crossed paths regularly throughout our careers. As recent co-workers, we often shared the issues of the day at work and laughed at oil-patch tales both past and present. We will miss his wit and twinkle in the eye.
