JODOIN, Leslie Rita

October 3, 1962 – October 18, 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie Rita Jodoin at the age of 60 years young.

Leslie is best described as a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Those who welcomed her affection into their lives were blessed, privileged, and grateful to have known her. She adored her grandchildren and often spoke about them with great fondness and love.

Leslie was born in St. Paul, Alberta to Louis and Noreen Jodoin, and was one of six children. At the age of seven, the family moved to Hinton, Alberta where a lot of time was spent enjoying the outdoors around Hinton and Jasper, Alberta. After high school graduation, Leslie spent time in West Kelowna, British Columbia and Red Deer, Alberta but eventually settled in Lacombe, Alberta where she raised her three daughters and managed her own businesses as well as working in two furniture retail stores. Leslie then moved back to Red Deer where she managed the Ten Thousand Villages store. Later, she moved back to Lacombe and managed the gift store at the Reynolds Alberta Museum. Recently, Leslie moved to Cochrane, Alberta and was busy enjoying time with her husband Gordon Bridgeman, grandchildren, and sister Carol Rispin, as well as many dear close friends.

In her lifetime, Leslie was very proud to have earned an Educational Assistant Certificate and Honours Diploma in Medical Office Assistant with Health Unit Coordinator.

Leslie is survived by her husband, Gordon Bridgeman, daughters Dorothy Jerome, Amber Jerome, and Michelle Jerome as well as grandchildren Aiden Coleman, Kohen Jerome, Damien Jerome, Amara Jerome, and Xylan Jerome. She is also survived by her mother Noreen Jodoin as well as her siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Leslie was predeceased by her father Louis Jodoin in 2005, grandparents Leo and Clara Schulte, Germaine and Rene Brisson, and Sylvio Jodoin.

Leslie would like to acknowledge the generous support of family, especially sister Carol Rispin, friends, especially Janice Brewer, Mavis Prevost, and Irma Stickland, medical staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, palliative team at Cochrane Home Care, and pharmaceutical staff at IDA Fireside Pharmacy during her difficult battles with cancer.

Leslie will be sorrowfully missed by all those who loved her and enjoyed her company in their lives. Goodbye Leslie, you will not be forgotten. Your pain is finally gone now, may you rest in peace.

In keeping with Leslie’s wishes and specific instructions, a celebration of life will be arranged at a later date. Please contact Gordon Bridgeman if you would like a memorial card as a keepsake. In lieu of flowers, we please ask that donations be made to Compassion Canada at www.compassion.ca.

Gord, Carol, Damien and all who loved Leslie,

May the Lord fill you with His peace, love, comfort and strength.
It was a privilege to know Leslie, to have known her as a dear friend. She was compassionate, caring and loving and always fun to be around. We will miss her incredibly, but thankful that she is now at peace, without the pain, suffering and heartache of the last few years. Leslie was an incredible example of preparedness for death, of living a life of dignity and peace to the end.

    Much love, Mel and Irma

    Dear Gord,

The death of any family member is undoubtedly painful to bear. Especially, losing a spouse is like losing one of the main pillars of the family. The agony and grief that follow after the death of the wife are unbearable. Nothing can take up the hollow space of the loving wife, nor is any word enough to lessen the grief of the mourning husband. We know this must be a difficult time for you and your family. As we keep you in our thoughts and prayers, please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help out.

Our sincere condolences Gord and may Leslie Rest In Peace

Much Love from All of us at PanGlobal

Dear Gord and family members. I am so sorry for your loss. Leslie was the Manager at Ten Thousand Villages here in Red Deer when I first had the privilege of meeting her. She was always so positive and easy to work for and with. I know that you are missing her very much. I was honoured to be able to provide her with a carrot cake before she passed.
