HYDE-WILSON, Josephine “Joey”

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother Joey on Friday, September 3, 2021 at her home in Cochrane, AB, at the age of 80.
Joey was born in Birch River, MB. She raised her family in Winnipeg before moving to Peachland, BC, where she met and married her husband John Wilson, eventually moving to Alberta and finally settling in Cochrane, AB. Joey had many careers in her lifetime but most knew her for her joy of sales. Joey was involved with the Lions Club in Kelowna, BC as well as in Calgary, AB. She was well known in the Stick Curling community as she not only played for a long time, but also taught many people how to stick curl.
Joey was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth “Jim” Hyde.
Joey is survived by her husband, John Wilson; children, Kelly, James, and Jodi-Ann; stepsons, Gary (Jackie), Shawn (Melanie), and Dan (Jenny); grandchildren, Justin and Ceira; step grandchildren, Brittini (Jonathan), Riley, Cameron, Jack, Grey, Lily, Quinn, Brendalynn, and Aria; step great grandson Weston; and her four legged companion Boomer.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joey was a dear friend for 66 years. She was well loved by many friends and will be sadly missed. RIP dear friend you were one of a kind.❤️
Joey has been a dear friend and part of our Winnipeg girls group! We will miss her. Am so happy that we had a get together of “the girls” in August in Wpg!
When I first met Joey over forty years ago it was through friends of mine here in Ireland who were related to her.
I didn’t realise then that I was making a friend who would remain so until her passing and would enrich my life.
Joey was a kind vibrant and caring person and my life will be much poorer without her in it, even if there were thousands of miles between us.
I extend my heartfelt sympathies to Jodi, Kelly and James.
Please let your consolation be that your mother was one of the great people.
We met Joey and John when we all joined the Mountainview Lion Club at the same time and became great friends. She was such a joy to work with and a great organizer, we had lots of fun and laughter together and many parties. Joey you will be greatly missed, you were much loved.
Condolences to Joeys family

I will miss Joey very much. We got to know each other well after Joey had her last surgery on her hip. We had some good laughs and good chats. Wayne was one of her handymen and will miss her calls. Our condolences to her families.
Sweet sleep my friend.
My sincere sympathy to Joey’s family.
I moved to Cochrane 5 years ago and Joey was one of the first people I met. She took me under her wing a little and introduced me to Sturling and Bocce. She was a wonderful leader and so involved with everything she took on. Recently I had been helping her with Sturling organization and now I only hope I can keep up the good work that Joey initiated.
She was a dear friend to me and I will miss her and think of her a lot. She passed on my birthday. Rest in peace.
