HOAR, W. Jean (nee McLenaghan)
December 01, 1936 – December 20, 2016
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our beloved Jean passed away peacefully on December 20th at the Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane, AB.
Jean is survived by her children, son Kevin (Melodie) and their children Jacob and Nathan of Bearspaw and daughter Shauna (Lorri Green) and daughter Tylor Cox of San Diego, California. Jean was predeceased by her husband Charles.
Jean was born and raised in Kindersley, Saskatchewan as the only child of Flora “Ken” and Bill McLenaghan. She later moved to Calgary where she met the love of her life, her soulmate, Charlie. Together they settled in their Bearspaw home, where they raised their children and owned and operated their successful business, Rockalta Stables. After many years in Bearspaw they moved to their Cochrane ranch. Jean treasured her time with her family and also had a great love of art and travel, and spending time in the garden at their Stables.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Lion’s Foundation of Canada Dog Guides (152 Wilson St. Oakville, ON L6K 0G6 ph: 1-800-768-3030 www.dogguides.com), Providing Dog Guides for Canadians with disabilities including children with Autism.
A Private Burial will take place at Cochrane Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her love, Charlie.

So very sorry, Jean in a lot of ways was like a sister, Bill and I spent so much time and enjoyed much time with them. All our children also loved Jean, respected her–they all miss not having Jean and Charlie about. The last few years have been hard, we all would have liked to help Jean, but didn’t seem like much could be done. Take care we are thinking of you and will never forget all those good times.
Our hearts going out to you and your family.
Dear Kevin, Melody, Shauna, Lorri and all the family.
I am so sorry to see this news. Deepest sympathies from Bruce and me and all of the Norris family.
