Our Mom and G-Mama passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 25, 2022

Margaret was born in Canmore on January 31, 1945, to parents Joseph and Anne Cherak. She grew up in a little coal mining town with her sister Sylvia.

Margaret devoted her life to supporting her family and those in the community. She worked at the Banff Springs Hotel as a telephone operator and for over 30 years at the Bow River Lodge where she was dedicated to the care of the seniors who resided there.

Margaret loved spending time with her family, this included trips to Las Vegas with her children and grandchildren, working on her family tree, scrapbooking, and gardening.

Margaret is survived by her sons Mark (Tracy) and Steven; grandchildren Jamie, Michelle, Stacey, and Stephanie; Uncle Bill (Maxine) and Auntie Suzy; brother-in-law Richard; nephews Rick (Lori), Keith (Joanne), Peter (Kathy), and great-nieces and nephews Nicole, Patricia, Ethan/Quartz, Kieran, Joel, and Erica.

She will be dearly missed bay all her family and friends.

Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, care aides and those who took care of her at the Canmore Hospital.

A Memorial Mass will take place at The Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Rockies (2 Silvertip Trail, Canmore, AB T1W 1P4) on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Canmore Cemetery. Following the interment, all are invited to join the family at the Canmore Legion for refreshments and a time of remembrance.

    I am so very sad to have to be saying good bye to my bff. Margaret was the kindest, caring , thoughtful person that I have ever met . She never ever complained about anything. Never ever said a bad thing about anyone. She loved all of you more then anything in this world. You, her family were her everything. She had a way of handling everything that came her way with grace. She was a woman and she lived it.
