It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Olga, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane, at the age of 82. Olga is now with her husband and best friend, Manuel, who passed away in 2009. She will be missed deeply by her brother, John Krasnodemsky; her children, Claire “Carrie” (Lou) Macdonald, Daniel (Kathy) Boychuk, Jo-Ann (Mitch) Garcia, and Manuel (Lynda) Garcia; her grandchildren, Danielle, Jamie, Joshua, Justin, Lacey, and Tricia, and their families; her great-grandchildren, Ava daughter of Josh and Anna Garcia, Haley and Layne Dunsmore children of Jamie Dunsmore, Kacey Witter child of Tricia and Darren Fajnor, and William, Georgia and Amelia Mayhew children of Danielle and Allan Mayhew; and many other family and friends.
Olga was born in Canmore and very proud of her heritage here. She was very involved in the community always willing to offer a helping hand; spending many years organizing the bingo in Exshaw and Canmore. She was also an active member in the Legion. She worked for many years with Parks Canada and the Canmore golf course. Olga was known for her hard work and great sense of humour. She had a huge heart and put that into everything she did.
A Visitation will take place at Cochrane Country Funeral Home (#6, 402 Railway St. West, Cochrane, AB) on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady Of The Rockies Roman Catholic Church (810 – 7 Street, Canmore, AB) on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11:00 am with viewing starting at 10:00 am. Following the service, Olga will be laid to rest at the Canmore Cemetery. A time for fellowship and remembrance will follow the graveside service at the Canmore Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane (302 Quigley Drive Cochrane, Alberta T4C1X9 www.bethanycare.com)
