CRIPPIN, Arthur Gerald “Gerry”

October 25, 1939 – April 11, 2021

Arthur Gerald “Gerry” Crippin passed away peacefully on April 11, 2021 at the Carewest Colonel Belcher in Calgary, AB at the age of 81 years.

Gerry was born in Vancouver, BC then spent his young childhood years on Texada Island. The Royal Canadian Air Force brought him to several interesting places working as an aircraft mechanic. One of his favourite postings was Germany, where in 1969 he met and married the love of his life, Angelika. They chose to settle in Canada, living several years in BC moving to Cochrane, AB in the summer of 1985 and that was then their forever home.

Gerry will be sadly missed by his daughter Tanya (Hauke); his granddaughter Mikaela; his grandson Logan; his brother Jack (Donna); his sister Beverley (Robie); and many nieces and nephews. Gerry was predeceased by his wife Angelika in 2011.

A private family gathering to celebrate Gerry’s life will take place at a later date. Gerry was very involved with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15, therefore in lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local Royal Canadian Legion or support veterans by donating online to https://legion.ca/remembrance/the-poppy-campaign/donate-to-the-poppy-fund.

Our family would like to thank the wonderful caring staff at the Foothills Hospital and the Carewest Colonel Belcher care home, and to all those who have expressed well wishes and condolences.
