CREYBOHM, James “Jim” Ronald
August 13, 1955 – June 24, 2017
James Ronald Creybohm (Jim) lost his fight with cancer June 24th, 2017. He is survived by his two sons, Dylan and Stephen, with whom he spent many hours with, sharing hobbies and interests.
Jim enjoyed hiking the mountains of Alberta, and travelling with the love of his life, Jill, whom he married June 26th, 2015. They shared many adventures (and a taste for fine scotch) together, from Hawaii, to Vegas to Rome.
Jim will also be remembered for his wit and keen sense of humour, his kind spirit and his talent with just about any musical instrument. He spent countless hours playing with the band, The Manthers, based out of Lethbridge, Alberta. On stage he could be found telling jokes, occasionally knocking over mic stands and always with a smile on his face.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Thursday July 6th, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Bearspaw Lions Hall (25240 Nagway Road, Calgary, AB). Please stop by to help us remember and celebrate a remarkable life.

Sorry for your loss. Jim was an old classmate and friend from the SAIT days. We share many fond memories of our young adulthood. We’ll always remember Jim with a twinkle in his eye and a ready smile.
Our deepest sympathies, Peter and Laurie Hodgins
Jim, best buddy, we miss wild and wise discussions over the state of the planet and the neighbourhood and everything in between already. Steve & Dylan you know our thoughts are with you rascals on the passing of your dad. Jill, we are so grateful that you came into Jim’s life. And to all friends and family, especially Laur who will always be a dear friend, we join you in knowing how fortunate we are to have shared life with Jim.
Jill, Dylan and Stephen,
My deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved husband and father.
My fondest memory of Jim is him singing “Tears in Heaven ” when I requested it. He would humbly tell me he probably wouldn’t remember it all but it was always so beautifully done and brought tears to my eyes.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Barb
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Jim was a very nice man with a wonderful sense of humor.
May all your wonderful memories bring peace and comfort.
Jill, Dylan and Steve
We are all so sad. Jim was one of the kindest people that I have ever met. We all loved him dearly. We have such fond memories of Jim – playing his guitar, playing crazy board games, and laughing with him and at his crazy sense of humor.
Dylan and Steve. I see your Dad in both of you every time I see you. I hope you both know that we are here for you.
Jill. Jim was so blessed to have you come into his life. It sounds as if your time together was so very special.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Jill, Steve and Dylan. We all enjoyed Jim as we raised kids together around the block. My son Ben, always spoke so highly of Jim and loved his sense of humour. He rarely turned down an invitation to hang with this family! I, too, loved hearing him and his friends onstage. We will never forget him. Peace and comfort to you all during this difficult time.
Our deepest condolences to Jim’s family. We’ll always remember the great times with Jim. He enjoyed sharing his music with friends, especially camping and singing around the campfire. He will be missed!
I am so sad to hear of Jim’s passing. He was a special friend of mine from 1973 – 1975. We spent a lot of time together in the day, and his keen wit and both musical and artistic talents were very evident even then. Jim was a wise, kind and gentle soul even as a young man. I am happy to hear that he enjoyed a good and satisfying life with his family and that he found a soulmate for the latter part of his life. My sincere condolences to his family. I can only imagine how much he will be missed.
Sincerely,
Pam Reeves Murphy
RIH Uncle Jim… you re all together now.. <3
It was with great sadness that I heard of Jim’s passing. I have fond memories of the many hours spent with Jim as a co-worker, business partner, and good friend during his years in Cold Lake. Jill, I wish I had met you; it seems you brought much happiness into Jim’s life. He truly deserved that. To Stephen and Dylan who I knew best from the Cold Lake/ranch days, my thoughts are with you, and to Laurie, I’m sure your memories of Jim are as good as mine. Jim was a wonderful, witty and kind man and will be missed by all who knew him.
Dylan and Stephen, my wife, Linda, and I were shocked by the news of your dad’s passing. I always appreciated the times we spoke – usually to do with your school activities. We saw him playing at a funeral in Brooks last year and spoke with him then and got an update on your lives. He was incredibly proud of both of you. I hope all of your memories of him will help you through this difficult time.
It was with great sadness that I read of Jim’s passing in the Brooks Bulletin. Jim and I grew up together and were great friends through our school years. We learned to play the guitar together and spend late nights in high school trying to figure out the chords for many songs. He was a far better musician than I. We had many adventures growing up in the small town of Brooks. While I lost track of Jim over the years since high school graduation, I often think of him when I pick up my guitar. My deepest sympathies to his family. He was a kind, gentle person and a committed friend. He will be missed.
Dylan and Stephen
Saddened to read of your Dad’s passing. My condolences.
Dylan, Steve, Jill and Family, my deep sympathy for the passing of Jim. He was an amazing man and such an influential person in my life growing up. From Cold Lake, summers in Dutchess, to countless thanksgivings and Christmas celebrations at the ranch, I am grateful to have so many wonderful memories and experiences with Jim. His wonderful sense of humour and irony always lightened the mood and my favourite memory is of Jim playing guitar with a kitten curled up beside him. In memory Jim will continue to be a part of my life and a role model.
Jim was a truly remarkable man!! Beautiful smile and a heart of gold! We have great memories of our trip to Mexico!! Many tequila tastings and Jim teaching us about sushi , Steve and Wyatt trading beer for pop (go figure) and the great day spent bodysurfing!! Love to you Steve and Dylan.. our thoughts are with you, Bruce , Marion and Wyatt
…Happy Trails Jimmy…
