CANNADY, Myron Earl

January 12, 1943 – November 4, 2020

CANNADY, Myron Earl of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at the Cambridge Manor in his 78th year.  Predeceased by the love of his life, Kathy, in 2018.  Dearly loved father of Kevin (and wife, Allin), Keenan (and wife, Michele), and Kirk (and wife, Mila), all of Calgary.  Cherished Grandfather of Keaton, Kandra, Carolyn, and Jessica, all of Calgary.  Beloved brother of the late Jim (and wife, the late Barb) Cannady of Taber, Alberta, Betty (and husband, the late Bob) Morrison of Lethbridge, the late Joan (and husband, Keith) Langille of Camrose, Gordy (and wife, Brenda) Cannady of Calgary,  June (and husband, Harry) Wong of Edmonton, and Bobby (and wife, Carol Anne) of Guelph, Ontario.  Dear brother-in-law of the late George (and wife, Elenor) Hooge of Caronport, Saskatchewan, Lena (and husband, George) Plett of Gem, Alberta, Jake (and wife, Marie) Hooge of Lethbridge, and Dorothy (and husband, Pete) Dzobia, of Lethbridge. Myron was also loved by many nieces and nephews and their families.

The family would like to express our sincere and profound gratitude to Gordy, Brenda, and Ryan Cannady for moving in with Myron on his beloved acreage and caring for him for nearly eighteen months.  Only with their kindness and selflessness was he able to remain in the comfort of his own home for that length of time.

We would also like to extend our deep appreciation to the staff at the Cambridge Manor for their friendly, cheerful, caring, compassionate dedication to Myron’s care during these unprecedented times; especially when COVID prevented family visits.  Several of you went far beyond the scope of your practice to keep him safe and feeling loved when we could not.

Myron will always be remembered for his love and undying devotion to his soul mate, Kathy, his deep affection for their dogs, his enjoyment of camping, hiking, and nature.  They are all together again.  He is also fondly remembered for his love of traditional country music (especially Elvis), classic cars, horses, cheezies and all things chocolate (especially sister Betty’s famous fudge).

The family will find a way to celebrate Myron’s life with family and friends sometime in 2021 pending Covid and resulting restrictions and guidelines.  All will be notified when we are able to gather.

Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Alzheimer’s Society, or the Calgary Humane Society.

    To the Cannady family
Dear friends , I am so sorry for your losses of
Joan, Jim and Myron. It is a very hard tragedy to bear in such a short time.
I also remember and mourn your losses of Kathy and Barb.
All your family is special to me , and for many years. Way back in the ‘60’s
when Jim and Betty and Barb and I were in high school I spent a lot of time
at the Cannady home in Taber and got to know Myron and Kathy and their
little boys, and Joan, Gordy, June and Bob.
A great family and I was always proud to know
    Myron and Ethel too.
I am thinking of you and hoping for strength and peace for all
of you. From Jean West Braun
