My condolences to the Byng Family. George taught me at the old Riverside High School and would come into our photography store and was always a pleasure to chat with him. He was strict on homework being completed—but you learned the subject–you did your homework because you enjoyed his classes overall. It sounds like a life well lived. Fantastic, and I wish the Family well as they grieve and hope that it will soon pass to be replaced by the many fond memories that remain.

I was saddened to learn of George’s passing. As a long time colleague at Riverside High
school, I have pleasant memories of him as the man who painted a toy soldier on the door of my young son’s toy box (which we still have, and which will be passed on to my grand daughters’ children), of a house on a peculiar Riverside street (Prado place), and a pun master who kept us smiling in the staff room. My sincere sympathy.
