ASSEL, Helena Adeleida Hendrika (nee Assen)
August 7, 1941 – Coevorden, Holland – April 5, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Helena, beloved Mom of Carma, Sherry and Yvonne passed away on April 5, 2017 at the age of 75 years. She was predeceased by her husband Dieter in 2010; her parents Diane and John; and her siblings, Ben, Hank, Jerry, Tony, Rikie and Diane.
She is survived by her daughters, Carma (Eric), Sherry (Linda) and Yvonne (Don), grandsons Tomas and Jamie Assel-Moore and Donte Stagg as well as her brothers, Herman, John, Bert, Harry, Henry, Frank and sisters, Mina, Margaret and Lioba.
As per Mom’s request there will be no funeral. A memorial will be held in the summer. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr.’s Lewis, MacEachern and Falk, the nurses and staff at the Foothills Hospital, as well as the Palliative Home Care team that took care of our Mom during this difficult time.
