ARMSTRONG, Jaylan “Jay” Kevin Elwood

October 13, 1996 – March 22, 2020

This man was born and raised west of Cremona, Alberta, with his family raising cattle and farming. He is survived by Ocean, Landon, Skylar and Ascena, along with many of us that love and cherish him.

Jay learned to run equipment from a very young age which grew into his passion and dream. He was a hard worker, enjoyed logging, and he shined on the Hoe. He would send out his daily snapchats of the equipment he was running to make us smile.

Jay could walk in a room and light it up with his smile and a smirk that would stop you in your tracks; changing the whole atmosphere with “that’s right”. He loved sharing his dreams and goals, never missed a chance to play a prank, and he was known for his competitiveness, especially when it came to fishing. Jay loved hard, forgave easy and was always looking for the active fun time that’s to be had in every situation.

It became a place in his heart to become a family man and that’s exactly what he did. He stepped up with no questions asked to be the stepfather of his beautiful fiancé Ocean’s two kids, Landon and Skylar, and then welcomed his first baby girl Ascena born September 2019 and that put the tie to complete his family that he always asked for. Jay was their rock, supporter and provider and we will forever cherish all the memories he has left with us.

In keeping with Jay’s style, a celebration of his life will take place at a later time, in a way that Jay would love – outdoors and with everyone having fun.

A Gofundme page has been created to provide support to Ocean and his family.  https://www.gofundme.com/f/ygfg2k-jays-family?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link-tip&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet
