Gerd Rossler, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2019 as a result of a brain trauma and related complications.
He is remembered as an active, energetic man who made his career in the Oil and Gas business. Gerd was an enthusiastic equestrian and breeder of Hanoverian horses. Biking and hiking became his passion after his retirement in 2006. Gerd and Ruth travelled to many places around the globe and spent their winters in Hawaii or Mexico.
Gerd touched many people with his warm smile, his shining blue eyes, his outgoing personality and his desire to help in any way he could.
Gerd is survived and sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Ruth (Luebke), his daughter Janine (Jared Thomas), his son Thomas (Sonya Ediger-Rossler) and his six grandchildren, Téa, Talon, Mercedes, Journey, Rio and Story.
The family would like to thank all those whose care and kindness made his last two years so comfortable at the Bethany Care Facility in Cochrane.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date and to those who wish, donations to the Cochrane & Area Humane Society would be appreciated.
