We’re so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. We really enjoyed seeing him and hearing his stories when he visited the island. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Emmanuel. He was such a big part of our lives growing up. I will always treasure the memories that we all made together – dinners at the Danish Club, Halloween, those giant tubs of ice cream he used to let us get, the car lot… and many more. He was a very generous man with an infectious laugh to go with his great big smile. Our condolences Sonja, Willy, and family. Our prayers are with you.

    Dear Remy, Sonja and Willy,
I was so shocked to learn about Emanuel’s passing today. I just can’t believe it, and am so sorry for all of you. I met Emanuel in 1981, when he owned the house I lived in. At that time, he was, as a sideline, buying Volvos, fixing them up, and selling them for a small profit. We spent many lovely times at the Danish Canadian Club. I remember when Willy was born. He was thrilled to be a father. He was so proud of you both, Sonja and Willy, and loved you SO much. Remy, when I met up with Emanuel in Kingston, years ago, when Sonja graduated from RMC, he said he was so happy with you, and that you were a wonderful person. I just thought he would always be here, and even though we didn’t speak often, I always think of Emanuel with deep affection. There is a hole where he used to be. Again, my deepest condolences to you.
