FEHR, Douglas William

July 30, 1969 – April 24, 2019

It is with broken hearts that we announce that Doug, our beloved Son, Brother and Uncle, passed away unexpectedly in Calgary, at the age of 49 years.  He is safely in the arms of God, whom he loved dearly.

Doug will be deeply missed by his loving parents, Dorothy and William (Bill); his brother Rodney; his step-daughter Kaitlynn Bartlett; his girlfriend Jacqueline Dupont; his very special nephew, Cody; and many relatives and friends.

Doug was born in Swift Current, SK and at 9 months of age, he moved with his family to Consul, SK where he attended school until Grade 10.  He then moved to Caronport, SK to complete his High School.

Doug was very accomplished; he attended Mount Royal University where he took Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy; he worked at Insurance, Trinity One, Air West, and Custom Roll Out Drawers; and he was also an excellent road builder. Doug also had many interests; he was a huge fan of UFC and an avid fan of the Edmonton Oilers and the Oakland Raiders; he loved fancy cars; he loved to travel, especially to Mexico; he enjoyed looking ‘sharp’ and he was known for his love of watches.  Most importantly, is the wonderful person he was; he was encouraging to others and prayed deeply for those in his life; he was a generous, kind and caring man whose deep faith was so important to him.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Cochrane Cemetery (click here for google map)  Those attending are asked to meet at Cochrane Country Funeral Home (#6, 402 Railway Street W., Cochrane, AB) at 10:15 am, leaving for the cemetery at 10:30 am.  Alternately, you may meet at the Cochrane Cemetery at 10:45 am.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Kings Gate Church (53 West Aarsby Road, Cochrane, AB) for all who wish to attend. Parking is available at King’s Gate Church and across the street at Bow Valley Baptist Church. Following the Service, relatives and friends are invited to join the family at the Lofts on the Bow (77 George Fox Trail, Cochrane, AB) for refreshments and a time of remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug’s memory to the Dream Centre (https://calgarydreamcentre.com/donate).

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support during this very difficult time.

Arrangements entrusted to Cochrane Country Funeral Home, Florence (Flo) Simpson, Funeral Director. Ph: 403-932-1039.

Dear Dorothy, Bill, Rodney and Family,

I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Doug. He truly was a kind, gentle, loving man, who only wanted only the best for every individual he met and, blessed with his presence. He always had a smile on his face, outstretched arms to offer a hug, and a peaceful presence that attracted many to be around him.

No words can ease the pain that you feel in your heart at this time, so I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ comforts you, fills you with a peace unknown to many and eases your pain during this time of loss. May Doug rest forever in the arms of Jesus Christ our savior and redeemer. Rest easy Doug!!
